Black Night // The Dodos

A quick outfit post of what I wore to a lunch on Saturday, which was also a ridiculously hot day might I add. I flew back home to Wagga on Friday for the weekend for a little visit to cure a small case of home sickness. It probably isn't the wisest decision to wear copious amounts of black on a hot day but I think I managed to get away with it due to minimal layers. I've recently become re obsessed with these Bettina Liano lace shorts I purchased a while ago as they're the perfect fit, are high waisted and are so light weight. The tee is from a time when I went on a tie dying frenzy and bleached basically every piece of clothing that was in my eye sight.

Outfit // Self tie dyed black and orange shirt, Lovisa statement necklace, Kookai 'Santa Monica' sunglasses, Bettina Liano black lace shorts, Sportsgirl tan oxford lace ups.

I discovered the jewellery label 'Tonimay' a few days ago when I came across their Instagram page while lurking the addictive iphone app. Tonimay jewellery is hand made and locally designed here in Sydney by Jewellery Designer, Laura Byrne. Laura uses an extensive range of exotic feathers, natural turquoise and gemstones and leather to create alluring distinctive unique pieces for her label. I'm very much digging the gypsy luxe aesthetic, earthy colours and the use of natural materials all with a quirky twist.

Above is a selection of my favourite pieces from the E-boutique, I think it's pretty safe to say I have a bit of an obsession with statement necklaces and feathers. I've also started to get into layering arm jewels and chunky beading so I think i'll be saving my pennies right away so I can grace my arm with that amazing hand-braided lapis and yellow jade cuff's presence.

Stripes and leopard are always an award winnig combination in my eyes. Bonus points if the leopard is neon orange and is the form of a trusty ol' time teller.. aka a watch. I've had quite the obsession with torque/choker necklaces as of late and i'm thinking the higher the better. I've had this thick gold one on high rotation ever since I purchased it, putting it to very good use. I also managed to score a thin silver one from a local op shop in my hometown right as they were making their comeback into the fashion world which was excellent timing and/or fate.

Outfit // Strummer high waisted leather shorts, Cotton On Body Stripey 3/4 tee, Lovisa orange watch/alligator cuff/black and gold magnetic bracelet/thick gold choker, Lovisa and Diva rings, Vintage black leather backpack, Rubi leopard loafers.

Steve McQueen // M83

This Mossman 'Queenie' dress is a vibrant multi coloured gem that has been perfect for those days when I want to brighten up my outfit in a way that requires little to no effort. It's become my #1 go to dress for those casual lazy days where the idea of creating an outfit and accessorising hurts my brain. As soon as I saw this dress I pretty much instantly fell in love with not only the stripey multi coloured print and the fit but most of all the pleating on either side. I do love me some pleats.

Neon Bible // Arcade Fire

Here is a little friday night inspiration for the weekend. I'm a little late on the band wagon but it would appear i've developed a new obsession with all things neon yellow.

Twin Flames // The Klaxons

Evil Twin has always been one of my favourite Australian clothing labels so it doesn't surprise me that i've been wearing this dress non stop since the day it made its way into my wardrobe. It's the perfect dress to throw on without any effort and the super soft feel of the faux suede makes it such a comfy piece. Considering its a pretty blingin' piece of clothing it's ability to be dressed down and layered with was an pretty excellent surprise. Pair it with a sleeveless shirt worn open over the top, some vintage boots, bag, a few hand jewels and you're set!

Outfit // Maurie and Eve 'Arizona pleated shirt', Evil Twin 'Gilded Age' dress, Vintage brown side handbag via Bobby Dazzlers, Vintage brown lace up boots, Cotton On tortoise shell round sunglasses, Lovisa rings.

Blue and Gold Print // Mates of State

images via topshop

I personally can't think of anything better than pattern clashing and am not one to shy away from floral on floral, head to toe print or even colour co ordinating with the wallpaper. This could explain why I am pretty damn excited for the return of the Mary Katrantzou and Topshop collaboration. Eclectic prints, unusual combinations of bright and vivid colour hues and some mighty fine arrangements of flourishing flora are what you can expect to see from the 10 piece line.

You can preview the collaboration here otherwise if you're one to forget and need a friendly reminder as to when the collection drops you can sign up to Style Notes here.

Eddie's Gun // The Kooks

A few outfit snaps from yesterday around Bondi, post eating our weight in dumplings at Miss Chu. The top I am wearing is actually a vintage maxi dress that I cut into a mini dress that I then decided to wear as a top. It's certainly one of my favourite pieces due to its print, texture, the fact is has shoulder pads and of course its ability to be such a versatile piece. Another item that has been on high rotation within my wardrobe is this leather fringed/studded Mimco bucket bag. It's an amazing gunmetal colour that has an ombre fade which subtly fades into a lighter grey at the top. I also love the fact that the studs are both gold and silver so it makes accessorising it with jewellery a breeze.

Outfit // Vintage floral sheer skirt, Vintage textured dress worn as a top, Mimco fringed/studded bucket bag, Sportsgirl tan sandals, Vintage necklace, Lovisa snake ring, Lovisa black and gold ring, Kookai 'Santa Monica' sunglasses.

The Bay // Metronomy

Payed a little visit to Watsons Bay today for a day tripping adventure with my Sister. Considering today started off with rain (surprise surprise) it ended up being such lovely weather and the perfect day for exploring around Watsons Bay. We saw a pretty sunset, a large abundance of epic sized spiders, stumbled upon some amazing streets filled with amazing houses, discovered an enormous red and white candy stripped light house that reminded us of a childhood favourite television show 'Round the Twist', found garfield in a window sill, climbed some ridiculously cool trees and then ventured back to Bondi to end the day with Sushi Train.

Outfit post to come.

P.S Happy Valentines Day lovers!

Time To Wander // Gypsy And The Cat

Snippets from Sara Phillips' AW12 collection, 'The Wanderer' featuring a collaboration with Perth aerial Photographer, Richard Woldendorp. The prints of these pieces were based on a series of Richard's photographs of the Australian landscape and his unique perspective of the outback. Soft luxe fabrics and rich earthy colour tones paired with the dreamy imagery of Richards eye catching and abstract artworks make the perfect combination for Autumn days.

Hold On // SBTRKT

via lolajaggervia lolajaggervia lolajaggervia lolajaggervia lolajaggervia lolajaggervia lolajaggervia lolajaggerYesterday was one of my favourite days of the year, the day of the St Jeromes Laneway Festival. It was yet another incredible day filled with good music, good people and good food. I didn't quite get around to seeing all the musicians/bands I would of liked to of seen but for those I did see.. they did not disappoint. Above are some photographs I took of Cults, Portugal. The Man, Austra, SBTRKT and The Drums. It was a hard decision deciding between SBTRKT and M83 (they were both playing at the same time) but i'm pretty happy with my choice since SBTRKT blew my mind! I definitely recommend heading to one of their shows, they will not disappoint you. My weekend also consisted of heading to a friends NYC Block Party themed birthday party Friday night, the Vice presents Rdio Launch Party at Beach Road Hotel Saturday night as well as having my parents in town visiting for the weekend. I think the only way to some up my weekend is with the picture below, featuring the haul/souvenirs/result of the weekends activities.via lolajagger
