Painter // Tessa And The Typecast

via jondo

Charmaine Olivia is one of the most talented and creative artists that I have come across. Her artistic expertise is a self taught talent which is why her artworks have that personal quirky aesthetic touch. She calls San Fransisco home and in her spare time she likes to spend her days sipping on peppermint tea and seeking inspiration from simple activities like playing with her kitten or engaging in a game of scrabble at her local park. Charmaine grew up in a small beach town within Southern California and used any sort of medium to express her artistic thoughts in her early days, including a bottle of soy sauce and a white napkin.

The artworks are alluring and draw you in with her distinctive portrayals of women. The women she draws have a graceful charm about them though with the addition of a powerful confident stare and in some cases the edgy additions of tattoos, bodywork and script writing. A signature touch we seem to see quite frequently in Charmaine's work is the augmentation of a third eye or replacement of an eye with another object. Below is a collection of my favourite pieces inspired by Charmaine's above artworks and her own personal style.
